Fundraising Officer

Job Description

We're looking for someone to join our small London-based team to help raise funds from community and events fundraising with existing and new supporters. If you have experience in raising funds from community events, sports challenges, online and email campaigns and an enthusiasm for our cause we want to hear from you! The role will work closely with the Chief Executive to deliver existing events and products, but will also be given the creative range to develop new ideas and approaches to help recruit more supporters and donors. 

The position is part time (3 days a week) on a one year contract - with option to extend for the right candidate.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

Events

  • Be the first point of contact for all enquiries relating to community fundraising  
  • Plan and execute a calendar of events (sports challenges and fundraising events)  
  • Promote, recruit, retain and support participants for sports events
  • Maximise income from other challenges, events and supporter led activities
  • Support the CEO to Research, secure and report to corporate partners/sponsors/gifts in kind
  • Support the CEO to Grow, motivate and inspire existing and potential individual supporters

Fundraising Campaigns

  • Manage fundraising campaigns, and draft online content, newsletters and promotional flyers and liaise with pro bono suppliers
  • Manage interns (two) to create content and manage a schedule of donor communications through MailChimp
  • Manage interns (two) to maintain the website, Kindlink donations page, and manage relevant social media schedule related to fundraising

Donor Care

  • Provide excellent stewardship and donor care to existing supporters and recruit new ones

General

  • Assist with administrative systems and processes – gift aid, monthly financial reporting, ensuring compliance and maintaining donor database and corresponding with donors
  • Support CEO to recruit and manage volunteers and community fundraising interns
  • Identify and carry out other initiatives as appropriate to increase our unrestricted income

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree level or equivalent
  • Experience of fundraising and volunteering  

Skills and Competencies

  • Experience of community fundraising
  • Strong project management skills
  • A track record of managing profitable donor accounts and delivering strategy to achieve financial targets
  • Excellent written skills with the ability to produce concise and creative bids
  • High standard of computer literacy (Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook)
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Demonstrable ability to plan and prioritise own workload with minimum supervision
  • Excellent communication, networking and presentation skills required to build relationships with potential individual donors and corporate partners
  • Ability to understand and generate budgets
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as required
